Farmington Daily-Times, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Notice of Release of Information The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232g, a Federal law, requires a child's parent or guardian to provide written consent prior to the disclosure of personally identifiable information from a child's education records. Prior consent is not necessary, however, if the information also may be disclosed pursuant to a court order. The court, in Stewart, et al. v. New Mexico Pub. Educ. Dep't. et al., has issued a protective order requiring all parties to provide educational records regarding all public school students in New Mexico to attorneys representing the Teachers and Legislators in New Mexico and that the records be kept secure. The New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) is providing the records in compliance with that order. The records WILL NOT RESULT in the public disclosure of any student names, addresses, social security numbers, unique identifying identification numbers, the student's date of birth or any other individually identifying information. The information includes information on standardized test performance and related documents. The information will be used only by the attorneys and their consulting and testifying experts, and anyone who has access to the data is prohibited from attempting to use it to identify individual students. The information will not be used for any other purpose and will not be used to contact any student nor any parent or legal guardian of any student. Defendant NMPED will begin providing the information to attorneys representing the plaintiffs and defendants beginning on or after June 15, 2016 and will provide the public at least fourteen (14) days' notice before such disclosure. If you do not want the NMPED to include information for your or your child's education records in the production, you must file a written objection in the First Judicial District of Santa Fe County, New Mexico, Judge David Thomson, no later than fourteen (14) days following the publishing of the notice, 5:00 p.m. MST, and you must provide the reason/s why your child's information should not be included in the production. Farmington Daily-Times, New Mexico Environment Department - Ground Water Quality Bureau Notice is hereby given pursuant to 20.6.2.3108.G NMAC, the following Groundwater Discharge Permit applications have been proposed for approval. To request additional information or to obtain a copy of a draft permit, contact the Ground Water Quality Bureau in Santa Fe at (505) 827-2900. Draft permits may also be viewed on-line at http://www.nmenv.state.nm.us/gwb/NMED-GWQB-PublicNotice.htm DP-419, Chaco Culture National Historical Park, Larry Turk, Superintendent, proposes to renew the Discharge Permit for the discharge of up to 19,500 gallons per day of domestic wastewater and reverse osmosis reject water to three synthetically lined impoundments for disposal by evaporation. Potential contaminants associated with this type of discharge include nitrogen compounds and metals. The facility is located at 1808 West County Road 7950, approximately 18.25 miles southwest of Nageezi, in Section 21, T21N, R10W, San Juan County. Ground water beneath the site is at a depth of approximately 81 feet and has a total dissolved solids concentration of approximately 1,410 milligrams per liter.
